1) What is Art?

The textbook (Prebles' Artforms) states that art does not need to be understood. Art grows from within us. It is based on our own emotions, insights, and experiences (p2). Art can be referred as music, trip the light fantastic, theater, literature, and visual arts (p3). For example, a drawing is fine art. An example giving in the book is

Janet Eichelman, Her Secret is Patience, 2009, 100' (steel, Fiber, Light).                            Janet Eichelman, Her Secret is Patience, 2009, 100' (steel, Fiber, Light).
I strongly agree that Her Hush-hush is Patience to be called a piece of art because it is 3 dimensional. Seeing this sculpture at night while having a bad 24-hour interval can probably change your mood. Lights, colors, floating in the air might really put a grin on your face. Information technology might also help making the community or the place where this fine art form is located at a ameliorate environment past bringing in positive vibes. I believe the primal term for this moving picture is form. Course is the total effect of the combined visual qualities within a work, including such components as materials, color, shape, line, and design.

2) What are the key traits that define creativity?
The textbook (Prebles' Artforms) states that the authors of the 2011 volume Innovator'south DNA4 found five traits that define creativity. Associating, Questioning, Observing, Networking, and Experimenting. Associating – The power to make connections. Questioning– Asking why things function as they do. Observing– Intently watching the world around. Networking– Being willing to collaborate with others. Experimenting– Exploring new possibilities (p5).

Robin Rhode, He Got Game, 2000 (Low-Tech chalk).                                       Robin Rhode, He Got Game, 2000 (Low-Tech chalk).
I agree that this picture defines creativity. Robin Rhode was very, very creative while talking these pictures. Rhode drew a basketball hoop with calk to make the illusion what he was actually shooting the brawl into the net rather than him lying on the ground holding the brawl. This is an example of abstract art, something that is known to represent natural objects, or exaggerated ways.

3) What are some ways that fine art relates to reality?
The textbook (Prebles' Artforms) states that Artist may interpret what they see in the physical world, or they may modify appearances (p9). To my understanding this sentence ways those artists are allowed to depict something they've seen to brand information technology their ain. Also stated in the volume the terms representational, abstract, and nonrepresentational are the words that are used to describe an artwork's relationship to the physical globe (p9).
Abstruse fine art can be known equally art that has no meaning, or work at is depict.

Theo Van Doesburg, The Cow, 1917                          Theo Van Doesburg, The Cow, 1917, 45/8" 10 61/four" (pencil, newspaper).
Nonrepresentational is artworks that don't represent or depict.

Alma Woodsey Thomas, Gray Night Phenomenon, 1972,     Alma Woodsey Thomas, Gray Night Phenomenon, 1972, 687⁄viii˝ × 531⁄8˝ (Acrylic on canvas).
Representational fine art is easily noticeable to people

Maori Peoples, Tukutuku, 1930s                 Maori Peoples, Tukutuku, 1930s (Dyed, plaited flax strips over wood board).

4) What is the difference between looking and seeing?
According to the textbook (Prebles' Artforms) information technology is stated that the verbs "await" and "see" point varying degrees of visual awareness. Looking is habitual, while seeing is more open, receptive, and focused version of looking.
I can make a personal connection to this. Very contempo we ( my class and I) went on a walking field trip where nosotros was told to looking at some photographs in the school halls. As many of us "Looked" at the photos we saw people's families, pets, and lifestyle. The professor then said observe the pictures closely as we volition each be discussing our favorites and why. Nosotros and then actually moved closer to the pictures we've chosen and saw things we didn't see while glancing at them. Taking that extra 2 minutes to really wait at the art that was captured truly made a divergence of the image and helped grasp the story the photographer was telling.
